Getting Around Petersburg:

- South Mitkof Express provides van transportation to the south
end of Mitkof Island by advance reservation. They may require
a minimum number of passenters Contact them thru Viking Travel

- Car Rentals are available (though in limited supply) at:
- Bike Rentals - Zoom Bikes - 907-772-2546 corner
of North Nordic and Dolphin (across from Trading Union grocery store).

Directions from the Alaska Marine Highway ferry terminal on Mitkof Highway
to Alaska Island Hostel (about 1.5 miles):
- Turn left and go 1 mile to corner of Nordic Drive and Haugen Drive (by totem poles)
- Turn right and go 8 blocks to 8th & Haugen.
- Turn left at 8th & Haugen and go 1 block to 8th & Gjoa.
- Turn right at 8th & Gjoa and go to end of the block. Alaska Island Hostel is the last house on the left at 805 Gjoa Street. It is a 2 story house with a dormer & blue-grey siding. Top
Directions from the Alaska Airline at Petersburg's Airport
to Alaska Island Hostel (about .5 miles):
- Head out the door and directly towards town on Haugen Drive to 8th Street.
- Turn right at 8th & Haugen and go 1 block to Gjoa Street.
- Turn right at 8th & Gjoa and go to end of the block. Alaska Island Hostel is the last house on the left at 805 Gjoa Street. It is a 2 story house with a dormer & blue-grey siding. Top
Directions from the north harbor in downtown Petersburg
to Alaska Island Hostel:
- From harbor master's office at corner of Harbor Way & Excel St, go uphill (away from the water) 9 blocks to 8th Street.
- Turn right at corner of 8th & Excel and go 2 blocks to 8th & Gjoa.
- Turn left at the corner of 8th & Gjoa and go to end of the block. Alaska Island Hostel is the last house on the left at 805 Gjoa Street. It is a 2 story house with a dormer & blue-grey siding. Top
